Port Alberta’s board of directors welcomed Wendy Cooper, Port Alberta’s first president and CEO, on March 23, 2011. She will also expand the organization’s membership base and maintain support from the municipal, provincial and federal governments.
Wendy brings extensive previous experience building relationships and collaborating with private sector and government organizations.
“My vision for Port Alberta is to work with key stakeholders to make Alberta a significant global trading partner,” she said. “It is important to recognize that Port Alberta will be run by industry for industry. Alberta can no longer afford to work in its own business silos. Port Alberta brings to the table a focus of collaboration between individual member companies to create value-added opportunities for wealth generation.”
