Chief Analytics Officer, City of Edmonton

Stephane Contre is the City of Edmonton’s Chief Analytics Officer. He leads the City’s Analytics Centre of Excellence, whose mission is to assist the Corporation in understanding and leveraging analytics to improve business outcomes. Stephane has gained international recognition for unique analytics projects such as the innovative development of advanced analytics tools, which utilize open data to look at indicators of crime within the City of Edmonton in a more detailed and intentional manner. Prior to joining the City, Stephane was an Infantry Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces, a Police Officer with the Ottawa Police Service, and spent time in Chad, Africa working as a Security Advisor for a gas exploration project. Stephane also served as the Deputy Commanding Officer of 6 Intelligence Company, a reserve military unit in Edmonton. He has an Engineering Degree from the Royal Military College of Canada.
